Bhavai is an amazing dance in which dancing women balance almost 8 to 9 pitchers on head. Only skilled dancers will be able to balance the earthen pots or the pitchers. This dance is really difficult to do as the dancer’s sway on the edge of a sword or on the glass in their barefoot.
In this dance, women will tie brass discs in their hands, wrists, elbows, and arms. The male performers who accompany these dancers will play tandoora and sing. Women performers would give fine movements to create fine rhythm that matches well with the performance of the accompanying male performers.

Dancer-only groups can also be arranged.
We perform Ghoomar, Kalbelia, Bhavai, Chari, Terah Taali and the fire dance. Ghoomar and Kalbelia are the most requested for weddings; Bhavai and Chari are popular as showpiece acts at receptions and corporate events. All dances are performed in traditional Rajasthani costume with live music.
Yes. Bhavai is performed regularly in hotel ballrooms and banquet halls. The dancer needs a level, non-slippery floor area of about 10 by 10 feet and a ceiling height of at least 12 feet for the stack of pots. The glass or sword balancing element is optional and can be left out for smaller venues.
A raised stage is preferred but not required. Ghoomar and Kalbelia work well on a dance floor at guest level, which lets guests join in. Bhavai and Chari are best on a stage or a cleared area so the balancing acts are visible. We adapt the choreography to the space available.
Folk ensembles with dancers range from ₹1,20,000 for a 7-artist group with one Kalbelia dancer to ₹1,90,000 for the 12-artist group with five dancers and seven musicians, for events in Jaipur. GST and travel and stay outside Jaipur are extra. Ask for a quote for dancer-only or custom line-ups.
